So we got our transfer calls and I will be staying another one in Miratejo, this time with Elder Ellsworth. He is my buddy, we just haven't ever served together. We are ready to get to work, I am way excited to serve with him and serve as a zone leader with him.
The church has 1 new member! Jessica was baptized on Saturday and comfirmed on Sunday. Her mom said it was ok.
Wayalo was an interesting story. He was marked to be baptized on the 1st (sunday) but never showed up to church. So we went out to his house and he said that he was just leaving to go get groceries. He stopped, said I know I shouldn't buy groceries on sunday, but I forgot yesterday and I don't have food. We told him he had a baptism to go to, but he left and told us not to wait for him, so guess what?, we waited. About 20 minutes later he came back and told us that the store was closed. We had a super spiritual lesson with him, and then he went into his room, got some boxers and said, alright, lets go to the baptism. So he should be confirmed next week. It was sort of a strange baptism, because we called everyone at the last minute. Since none of the bishopric was there or the stake presidency, I got to preside at the meeting.
It is interesting what we can do when we put our minds to it. Everyone before my mission told me if I could baptize 10 on my mission I would have done a good job, even the missionaries, the average for Portugal is 7 a mission.
This last week I did 2 divisions, one with an elder named Elder Barbosa, who has been a dead missionary for about 6 months now. I got there and just basically said that we needed to get to work, and we did. It was a way fun transfer. The trick was to not let him bring up his home.
The other division was with Elder Pedersen. He is super cool and it was like training him, since he has been having dificulty with the language. I just told everyone he is my boss, and it was funny trying to watch people understand him. He got frustruated, but in the end he said thanks for making him learn the language. I explained that he can't get anywhere without speaking the language.
I don't know what else is going on right now.
Elder Hope
